Arthur Frewen Wilson III “Butch”, 77, of Arrington, died Monday, April 28, 2025. Born in Lynchburg on May 27, 1947, he lived most of his life in his beloved Nelson County and was a son of the late Arthur F. Wilson Jr. and Juliet Wills Gantt Wilson.
Arthur was a United States Navy veteran, having proudly served his country. He was an architect for many years retiring from WileyWilson. He was also a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Arthur loved croquet and played frequently. He possessed a love of and a talent for drawing and sketching.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Dianne Massie Wilson; sons, Arthur Frewen Wilson IV, and Robert Edward Wilson (Jessica), both of Crozet; brother, Mark Lewis Wilson (Janice) of Piney River; sister, Patricia Susan Wilkerson (Reggie) of Monroe; granddaughters Courtney and Helen Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Wilson.
A graveside service with military honors by American Legion Post 16, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, in the Wilson Family Cemetery at 1604 Wilson Road, Arrington VA by Pastor James Bryant and special friend Wayne Massie.
