Doris Kidd Johnson

Doris Kidd Johnson, 78, of Schuyler entered the presence of the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2025. Born in Massies Mill, VA on January 30, 1946, the daughter of Lyle and Hazel Taylor Kidd.

She spent her life caring for her family. We never knew what it was like not to have a clean house, clean clothes to wear or a hot meal on the table. We watched her care for other family members when they were sick or in need. Our father worked away from home, and she was strong enough to take care of anything and everything that came up in his absence. The most important job a person will ever hold is the one within the walls of their own home. She lived every day as an example of what that means.

She is survived by her 4 children, Susan, Bobby (Sharon), Danny and David. She was Meme to 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also, a brother Mark Kidd, nieces, nephews and friends that she loved as family.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert L. Johnson, a daughter in law, Mari Purvis Johnson, a brother Jimmy Kidd and a sister Kathy Keeble.

Whenever you till the soil in the spring for fresh vegetables plants or flowers and make your home a place family can gather in love, thank God for the life he has provided you and know that if you know God as your Savior a day will come that you will gather again for eternity.

The family will be holding a celebration of life in the Spring.
