Dorothy Wood Bryant

Dorothy Wood Bryant, 95, of Roseland, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Born May 29, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Buren Cameo Wood and Lola Fitzgerald Wood.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth Bryant; a sister, Carmina Wood Taylor; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Hope Bryant; sons, Joseph Bryant, Curtis Bryant, and James Dale “J.D.” Bryant; a brother, Cecil Wood, and sisters, Cora Campbell, Mary Sprouse, Edith Painter, and Margaret Lawhorne.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Staunton Post Acute and Rehabilitation, Joyce Floyd, Cobi Simmons, and all others who provided loving care and support. 

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home by Pastor Carroll Martin with burial to follow in Jonesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the funeral home.
