Geraldine Bessie Barnett "Jean"

Geraldine Bessie Barnett “Jean”, 88, of Lynchburg, VA passed away peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was a daughter of the late Pauline Julia “Polly” and Sylvester Barnett. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister, June Thrush of Alexandria; nieces, Virginia, Felicia and Melissa; nephews, Mike, Ken, Tim, and Tommy; great nephew, Kevin, and great great nephews, Kingston and Elijah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ida Mae; brother, Elwood; brother-in-law, Robert Murphy “Coffee”; sister-in-law, Blossom, and a great nephew, Chris Murphy.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thanks to all other special cousins and friends who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home by Rev. Aaron Wade.
