James Nelson Kidd "Jimmy"

James “Jimmy” Nelson Kidd, 73, of Roseland, VA, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Born January 6, 1952, in Charlottesville, VA, he was a son of the late Nelson Carrington “NC” Kidd and Mary Catherine Fitzgerald Kidd.

Jimmy was educated in the Nelson County School System and devoted many years of service to Wintergreen Property Owners Association (WPOA) in Wintergreen, Va.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jane W. Kidd, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage; three children, Timothy (Tonya), Corey, and Brian (Anne); four treasured grandchildren, Timothy Kidd Jr. “TJ”, Abigail Kidd, Sallie Bruguiere, and Michael Bruguiere; eight great-grandchildren, Adalee, Wesley, Olivia, Levi, Callie Rae, Colton, Peyton, and Brantley; his sister, Cathy Truslow (Donnie); his brothers, Ray (Cheryl), Clay (Sherry), and Tony (Diane); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Wayne “Spunkie” Kidd.

Jimmy will be fondly remembered for his personality. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, often spending time watching the passing traffic and welcoming visits from friends and family who stopped by. It was a guarantee that he could make you laugh.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to UVA Health and to Forest Rehabilitation for the exceptional care shown to Jimmy and his loved ones.

A graveside service honoring Jimmy’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2025, in Jonesboro Cemetery, Roseland, VA, by David Thomas Jr.
