Katherine Marie Berryman “Kat-Kat”, 66, of Roseland, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 16, 2026 at her home. Kathy was born on October 2, 1960 to Betty and the late Billy John Pippin.
Nelson County was where she called home. She served Nelson County Public Schools for over two decades as a bus driver. She took pride in her profession and treated each child as if they were her own.
Kat-Kat had a heart of gold. She loved big and she loved hard. She was never one to hold her tongue, so whether it was good or bad you knew exactly where you stood with her. She was a strong-willed woman with a huge personality and an infectious laugh.
Kat-Kat was caring and made sure those around her were always taken care of, no questions asked. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She ended each interaction with, “I love you to the moon and back”.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jodi Pippin, and brother, Dino Pippin.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, her absolute world, James Dean (Rachel) Berryman; her grandbabies, Lauryn and Landyn Berryman, and two bonus grandsons, Zachary and Aiden Pustmueller; sisters, Betty Morris and Tommy Harris, and Bobbie (Bo)Campbell; brother, Johnny Pippin; a beloved best friend, Norma Johnston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Kathy was a private person, so in honor of her wishes there will be a small private family gathering in celebration of her life announced at a later date.
“Kat-Kat, we love you to the moon and back.”
