Kenneth Lee Layton

Kenneth Lee Layton, 57, of Tyro, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Augusta Health. Born in Long Island, NY, May 23, 1968, he was a son of Catherine Anne Jordan Layton of Fishersville, and the late Frank Ward Layton.

Kenneth had worked construction for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was even known to do a little canning. He especially cherished the time he spent with his friends and neighbors. Kenneth was blessed with many special people in his life including, Darrell Ramsey, Ronnie and Sandra Fitzgerald, Brooke and Derek Stinnett, Brenda Carr, and Sara Jacobs.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, MaryNan Layton of Lynchburg; his beloved four-legged companion, Rufus; brother, William Layton of Tyro; a very special niece, Shelby Dixon of Washington; niece, Olivia Layton of Lynchburg; nephews, William Keith Layton Jr. of Greenville, SC, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Tara Dixon.

A memorial service for close family and friends will be held at a later date.
