McJoy Lawhorne Williams, 91, of Arrington, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Born February 8, 1934, she was a daughter of the late John Lawhorne and Lena Jones Lawhorne.
McJoy had been a seamstress for Lovingston Manufacturing for many years, and was a member of Massies Mill Presbyterian Church. She loved working crossword puzzles, listening to music, but loved her family and enjoyed time she spent with them most of all.
She is survived by sons, Everett L. Williams Jr. “Buddy” (Karen) of Roseland, and Joseph L. Williams “Joe” (Debra) of Waynesboro; daughter, Joy Williams Long (Carlton) of Old Rose Mill Rd.; grandchildren, Branden Williams (Sandra), Kandis Langley, Erin Langley, Trey Snead (Taylor) Cara Long (Srinal) and Carleigh Long; great-grandchildren, Bowden Williams, Kailyn, Khrystian, Cason, Greenlee, Anthony, Everleigh, Logan, Landon, Emmett, Nathaniel, Maverick, Benjerman, and Isaiah; sisters, Peggy Lawhorne (Clemon), Cora Belle Hughes, and Jean Lawhorne, and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everett “Bud” Lewis Williams Sr.; brother, Dean Lawhorne, and sisters, Arlene Campbell, Faye Lawhorn, Mildred Campbell, and Anne Allen.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 at Massies Mill Presbyterian Church by Pastor Bill Meneeley with burial to follow in Bethel Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
