Mitchell Lee Drain

Mitchell Lee Drain “Mitch” 40, of Piney River passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026 at his home. Born in Elkins, West Virginia, he was a son of Tammy Hornick Drain and the late Douglas Drain.

Mitch had been a welder for Englander Stoves. He was an avid music lover, often playing the guitar or attending concerts. He enjoyed traveling to many different states and had a love for fishing. Mitch was a kind and lovable soul who never knew a stranger and he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his girlfriend, Amanda Mahaffey; a brother, James Drain; a sister, Amy Drain; aunts, Teresa and Donna; an uncle, Dale; a niece, Lillian Drain; a nephew, Anthony Martin; cousins, Ricky, Rose, Melissa, Danielle, Priscilla, Daniel, and Michael; his beloved fur-baby, “Chloe”, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A service to honor Mitch will be held at a later date.
