Ricardo “Rick” Anthony Villavicencio of Montebello left to be with our Lord and Savior March 27th, 2026, peacefully at his home.

Rick was born October 2, 1958, in Alexandria, VA to Jorge Villavicencio and Juanita Villavicencio. Rick grew up in Fairfax where he and his brother Jorge (Julie) Villavicencio made lifelong friendships.

In 2000, Rick bought land in Montebello where he had traveled so many times before to hike and enjoy a life of wilderness. Rick had a log cabin constructed on a hill overlooking a pond. Rick and his lifelong friend Rick Pennington, along with many others did all the interior construction to the home.

Once the house was mostly completed Rick, his wife at the time, and three daughters Sarah Monahan (Rick), Abbey Goodwin (Jacob), Diana Willis (Nathan) all moved in. Soon came another daughter Olivia Villavicencio (Robb) and a son Ricardo Michael Villavicencio, but we all affectionately called him Mikey.

During this time Rick worked at Wintergreen as a snowmaker where he made a core group of local friends and continued to make the cabin a home, from growing vegetables to the most beautiful flowers. Pretty quickly it was clear that Mikey had nonverbal autism and Rick became Mikey's full-time caregiver. During his caregiver years he also did odd jobs in Montebello and worked consistently at JES Christmas Tree Farm where he took pride in the trees.

Rick was proceeded in death by his parents Jorge and Juanita Villavicencio and his sister Ann Foster. He is survived by so many people that loved and knew him including daughters Sarah, Abbey, Diana, Olivia, Bella and a son Mikey.

While this time is incredibly difficult we have peace and knowing that our Dad who was a talented writer and painter, a phenomenal cook, a horticulturalist, a family comedian, sometimes a drama queen, a friend to many, a devoted caregiver, a faithful believer and teacher of God, and his most honored title our Dad passed peacefully in his favorite place and is now at his everlasting home.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Rick’s honor on May 16th, for those who wish to attend please contact the family for additional details.
