Steven Michael Campbell "Moonrock"

Steven Michael Campbell, 69, of Roseland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, May 23, 2025. Born in Waynesboro, July 29, 1955, he was the son of the late Ralph Junus Campbell and Louise Shirley Coffey Campbell.

Steve, aka “Moonrock”, was a seasoned truck driver, retiring after several decades behind the wheel. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and had a true passion and talent for gardening. Prior to retirement, he loved riding his Harley, especially at Christmas when he dressed up as Santa and rode around, including in the parking lot of the hospital, where he waved and brought cheer to those who were sick. Steve’s greatest joy, however, was time spent with family, whether front porch sittin’ or at other gatherings/cookouts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sharon Rae Fitzgerald Campbell; four children; LaDonna “Duck” Kurpel (Roy) of Beech Grove, Stephanie “Little One” Shifflett (Jody) of Afton, Jason Campbell (Bridget) of Beech Grove, and Courtney Spencer (partner Chad Sale) of Roseland; ten grandchildren, Morgan Kurpel, Mariah Kurpel, Dylan Shifflett, Ryan Shifflett (Angel), Kyra Monast (Joey), Kelly Rae Campbell, Allyssa Spencer, Elora Spencer, Vaden Sale, and Phenix Sale; and two great-grandsons, Thomas Kurpel and Clemens Monast.

A private Celebration of Life occurred on May 25, 2025.
