Thomas Joe Fitzgerald "Tommy"

Thomas Joe Fitzgerald “Tommy”, 71, of Arrington, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his home. Born in Nelson County, January 7, 1955, he was a son of the late Charlie Thomas Fitzgerald and Carrie May Thacker Fitzgerald.

Tommy had been a timber cutter, working alongside his father for many years. He was a private man who found joy in the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his brothers, Ronnie L. Fitzgerald, and Lloyd A. Fitzgerald; his sisters, Joyce Ann Lann, Judy May Fitzgerald, and Shirley L. Rose; close friends, Melvin Ward, and Frankie Viar; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles E. Fitzgerald, and Billy A. Fitzgerald.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
