Wallice “Wally” Vaughan Robinson, 88 of Amherst, VA gained her heavenly wings as she peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday August 4, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

She was born on July 16, 1937, to the late Norvell Haven Vaughan, Sr. and Tempest Randolph Vaughan.

Wally accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and became a faithful member of Saint James Baptist Church. In her later years, she worshipped at White Rock Baptist Church until her health began to decline.

After graduating from high school in Nelson County, Virginia, Wally devoted herself to working, caring for her family and others in her community. She had a heart full of compassion and a spirit of service that touched many lives.

At a young age, Wally married, and from that union, she was blessed with a son whom she loved and cherished deeply.

Wally retired from Winton Country Club, where she served as head cook. She was passionate about cooking and baking, known far and wide for her delicious yeast rolls, hummingbird cake, red velvet cake, and an array of unforgettable pies. Her kitchen was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked love.

Her legacy of kindness, strength, and hospitality will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Carroll Robinson, Sr.; five siblings, Lula Mae Colon, Virginia “Ginny Bell” Hudson, Norvell “Babe” Vaughan, Jr., Duvall Vaughan and Richard Vaughan; mother-in-law, Dora Robinson; 3 sisters-in-law; 7 brothers-in-law; granddaughter-in-law, Joy Robinson, and a dear friend, Willis S. Carter.

Those left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, are her devoted son and daughter-in-law, whom she lived with, James Carroll Robinson, Jr. “Papoose”, and Meshell Robinson “Shell”, of Amherst, VA; 3 dedicated grandsons who were her pride and joy, James C. Robinson, III “PJ” (Ashleigh), Dante’ Robinson, and Rico “Rooster” Robinson (Ashley); 5 great-grandchildren, Daemian, Lexi, Raeghan, Tristan and Rhyker, who were the apple of her eye and couldn’t do any wrong!; 3 step-grandkids, Elijah, Lydia and Bryccn, and 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Robinson and Christine Vaughan.

Wally was also blessed to have two very special nephews who worshiped her. She was “Queen B” to Norvell “Bena” Colon and “Auntie” to Julio “Vic” Colon (Capece); 2 bonus family members whom she loved dearly, Dr. Francis Carter (Virginia) and Arthur Patterson (Jody), and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Pine Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Aaron Wade with burial to follow in New Mount Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
